Nalgene Water Bottle Cozy

No yarn pr0n today, I showed that off on Wednesday and it rained yesterday so I wasn't able to get outside for any new pr0n shots. So, yarn pr0n friday will return next week. Sorry, Zib. Well, the water bottle cozy, she is finished. Nalgene Water Bottle Cozy Needles: US 6 dpns Yarn: Cascade 220 Gauge: 5 st / 7 rows per inch Instructions: Cast on 56 stitches join, working in K2 P2 Ribbing for 9 rounds. Knit 8 rows plain, begin 19 row fair aisle pattern (from Fall/Winter 2005 Knit Scene) Knit 8 rows plain, change to K2P2 ribbing for 5 rounds, binding off in pattern. ETA - Yes, it really does keep the water colder. Plus, no sweating! Case in point - I filled my water bottle up with ice water at 7:45 this morning, it's now nearly 11am and I still have ice in the bottle, and my desk is dry! Yesterday, I had a puddle and warm water by this time.

Cute! looks like a nice quick knit.

Does it actually keep the water colder rather than warmer? I've never seen a bottle sweater before.

What a fun pattern (as well as your coffee cozees) - I'm thinking I might have to do something like this soon! :)

I love the colors you picked. I might have to knit one of those for my sister....I tease her about her nalgene water bottle addiction.

Nice job!! I was a Nalgene addict when I was working. They hold tons of water! Does the cozy slip any when the bottle is full and sweaty? (Okay, that sounds funny)

That's a great cozy! I love the nordic sweater look, it makes me think of ice and snow. Ahhhh

Clever and practical. I've been using potholders at home for the super sweaty beverages and keep thinking I need to knit some wool coasters. This adds a possibility for work! Thanks for sharing your project idea.

What would happen if you used Wick yarn? Hey, I'm catching up on my blogs--sorry about your shitty week. Guys are one thing but the job hunt is a real pisser.Comfort yourself with some yarnprOn--and a stiff drink.

That looks fab and sounds really useful, I hate the whole bottle sweating thing.

i love my nalgene. i have a red one. with a red lid. (i was a bad girl and changed the lid color at the REI 'cause i didn't like the black).
does it slip out of your hand any when you pick your bottle up? do you think it would need a bottom?
