Oooh! Movies!
This weekend's blogstalking activity is to flash your movie stash. I have one of those TV stands with little shelves on either side for my DVDs, but alas, it's not quite enough room for them all, of course. I'm planning on buying the cool DVD boxes like Trillian42 has. Then I can get all sorts of classy organized.
First, we have my collections. I have all seasons of Futurama, Family Guy, The Simpsons (when I say all, I mean all that have been released), Dead Like Me, Mr. Bean and Deadwood. I also keep my Quentin Tarantino collection on this side. There is a method to my "organization" I swear.
On the other side, we have the movies. Just straight up movies.
Trillian's probably twitching right about now. No, these aren't organized. Not alphabetically, nor by genre really. Just where they fit.
Then, behind curtain #1, we have my video tapes. (And Lion King stuff)
I'm still working on replacing my video tapes with the DVD versions.
And here, we feature my favorites.
In the Television Category we have Dead Like Me and Deadwood Heh. Sounds morbid, eh?
Deadwood is my all time favorite television show. We all know I do did the transcriptions which is a level of fandom not many are idiotic loyal enough to achieve. "Dead Like Me" is another favorite. Sadly, both of these shows are now cancelled. Fortunately, Deadwood still has 2-2 hour movies coming to us to wrap it up. Dead Like Me, not so lucky. It was one of the most clever shows I've seen in ages. Any show that can portray grim reapers in such a quirky and hilarious way wins my vote. Plus, Mandy Patinkon starred in it. Which brings me to my favorite movies in my collection. Just a sample, there's others.
Of course, there's The Princess Bride. Then there's Ever After and O,Brother Where Art Thou? All movies I can watch over and over again and not get tired of. What are some of your favorites?

Oddly enough, The Princess Bride and O, Brother Where Art Thou? Are on my list of favorites. Add to that Dark City and Father Ted for British television, and you knwo what's going on...
I'm not twitching. Just because I keep mine in alphabetical order does not mean that I think everyone else should as well.
I mean, if they wanted to easily find anything, they would, but if they want to be disorganized and sloppy, it's not really my place to say anything, is it? :D
You like Deadwood? No way! I would have never guessed (hee hee, sorry, blogsarcasm doesn't work does it???)
I've got all the Future's Yama as well (that's what Chunky calls them).
Totally off topic--that plant in the first picture--is it just one big vine or bushier? I'm trying to get mine to "bush" and I can't figure out where to pinch it off!
Dead Like Me is cancelled? I have it showing up on SciFi on Tuesday nights. Are these re-runs or has the sleep deprivation gotten to me?
Princess Bride totally rocks. Hardly a day goes by in our house where no less than one line from that movie is quoted in some shape or form.
Dead Like Me is now showing on SciFi on Tuesday nioghts starting at 7pm. (2 episodes) These are repeats of the first two seasons from Showtime.
I'm kind of dissapointed that Deadwood is no longer going to be a series. I hope the feature length shows are good.
Ha ha, my housemate at University had a massive film collection which he kept super organised. At first we used to put them back in the wrong place and then we took to putting them in the wrong cases. It used to wind him up no end. Ooh and we tied him to a chair and made him watch Titanic once too.
Nice collection. My favourite films tend to be really quirky English ones like 'Withnail and I' and 'Blue Juice' (surfing).
Bezzie - I can't figure out how to force it to branch either. It will or it won't for all I can tell. That's just a bunch of cuttings that have been rooted and shoved in to make it look bushy.
You have The Cutting Edge? That's a terrific movie. "Toepick!"
Ah, Dead Like Me. I started watching it after it'd been cancelled. The last episode, while probably not intended to be the series finale, seemed appropriate as a wrap-up for our view into those people's lives/afterlives. I love that show.
Oh, and that plant? Pinch it off anywhere, and stick the pinched-off stem back in the soil. It'll bush out a little from the pinched end, and from the second plant that will grow right next to it.
The Princess Bride is one of my all time favorite movies...I have my very own copy (and it's not in alphabetical order, either - although my CDs are...)
I love pretty much the same shows and movies as you! heee!
And I saw that comment on Elizabeth's blog about 3 people getting Sarah yarn....
Maybe you need some?
PM/email me your addy!
Good call with your three fav. movies - I love ever after... love it. I haven't seen it in forever b/c I only own the vhs and I no longer own a working VCR.... I'm so going to go netflix it now!
and the fact that you own The Cutting Edge makes you very, very cool in my book. Best Olympic movie ever (next to Cool Runnings, of course!)
