Yarn Pr0n Friday the 13th!!

Finally. Although it's really been what, 20 now? I have no idea. I lost count after the 12th one when Bezzie told me to hold off on the 13th until now. Oh well. It's still friday, and there's fresh pr0n to be had. First, last night I attended my very first knitting class. After my a-dumbass shawl disaster I knew I'd need professional help before I embarked on another lace shawl. So, I signed up for a Swallowtail Shawl class (from the Fall Interweave Knits)taught by a woman I have great respect for as a knitter, Miss Jane Prater. I want it a bit bigger than it's meant to be, so I'll be making it in Elsbeth Lavold's Silky Wool. Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool Last week, I broke down and did a bad thing. I ordered yarn from Little Knits. At least the Silky Wool I bought was earned through credit at the yarn shop. I'm trying not to spend money on yarn. But they were having a sale and well, I caved. Regia Cotton Surf This is Regia Cotton Surf in a neato purple stripe. Ok, well, technically it's called "Provence (Color #5410)" (finally something with a name!) I see me finally making myself some Jaywalkers with this. But I'll admit, probably not until next spring. But what I really went there for was the Cherry Tree Hill Supersock. Particularly the Emerald City colorway. Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Could you resist? Nope, neither could I. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words in yesterdays post. I felt a need to step forward and warn my knittyhead friends about the bad apple that was taken advantage of us all. Fortunately, I'm only out a couple bucks I'd sent for gas. But on another front - I know she was collecting gifts for a RAK to Empress Harajuku, myself, I gifted a skein of Trekking XXL in a funky pink sparkley colorway, as well as a set of DPNs. I know others sent stuff too. I don't think that RAK will ever make it there. I pestered her for several weeks asking if she'd sent it yet. First - she didn't have a box the right size. Then, it was in her car but not taped up. I question it all.

Hooray for the Honorary Yarn Pron the 13th on Friday the 13th!
LOVE the cotton Regia! (But then again I'm a sucker for any reasonably priced cotton sock yarn--I've sofar resisted the Surf line)
And I like the way you continue the other day's Seattle theme by featuring your Emerald City sock yarn pron--love that shade!!

WHY did no one tell me that CTH makes an Emerald City colorway? Must... own... (I'm also looking for the Emerald City and Ruby Slippers colors in STR. It's a sickness, I tell you.)

And I completely forgot about the RAK for EH. Crap. She really f'ed over a lot of people.

Very nice! Glad you caught the good light too! And the lace class was good?

I do hope that EH gets the RAK :(

Makes me sad.

And I changed my fiber that I shot, but included the "extra"!

What color is your Silky Wool? Is it black or charcoal grey. I'm currently working with a charcoal color that is just devine. I wanted to post pics of it, but still no camera.

Also, I didn't comment before, but your posting of what's going on with a certain someone was a good thing.

You always choose the most beautiful yarn, you have excellent taste.

I do hope the stuff for Empress Harajuku gets there. I hate it when people take advantage of the kindness of others. Good for you on calling her out.

I've never seen the Emerald City colorway before. It's PERFECTION. Must resist buying more yarn. Stash is. too. big. Especially CTH.

Yay for shawl classes. After farking up the last two rows on the chart repeat of Kiri I decided to throw in the towel and just start the edging. After that though, I'd like to try a shawl with more interesting pattern repeats.. Kiri, I love you, but you gotta go! Maybe wild blocking will help it in size.

As for yarn pr0n.. ooooh... ahhhhh. I'm loving the Regia and CTH Emerald City. Green isn't usually a color I would call a favorite(it's red), but that might just change.

As for the 'theef', F it all. I don't think the box made it there either.
