Da na da na na na na - Tequila!

Monday afternoon I met up with Trillian42 and Bryghtrose in Georgetown for lunch and yarn shopping. Bryghtrose and Trillian42 Is it any wonder that within minutes of meeting we were drinking? We wandered along the streets of Georgetown at 11am looking for a place that was open for lunch. Who knew it'd be so hard? We lucked out when we spotted the Alamo Georgetown's open door. No, they weren't open yet, but the wonderful Russian waiter was more than happy to let us sit and talk over some water (how did he know we needed to pre-hydrate?) and munch on chips and salsa. It wasn't long before he was ready to let us order lunch, but it wouldn't have mattered. We had a great time just chatting. Of course, there was the matter of beverages. Margaritas all around! Trillian and I went for the "Texas Size" (just a bit more amped up is all) and Bryghtrose stuck with the regular. Something about not wanting to dancing on the table naked. Heh. After our meal, the waiter approached us with the teaser "Ready to try something different?" or something. I can't remember how he phrased it but I said "OF course!". This is how we ended our lunch, me being the fearless Leo, went first: Count to 7... Lime Grin! Then it was Bryghtrose's turn: Counting to Seven... Ugh - get it out! And finally Trillian42's Count to Seven - yay! Happy Lime Face! Yeah. We had a great lunch. Just the right amount of alcohol in our system to go yarn shopping. Stitch DC After feeding the parking meter (thank you, Bryghtrose!) we went to Stitch D.C. and boy, did we strike gold. No, you can't see what I got yet. That's for tomorrow. Yarn Pr0n Fridays, remember? We even had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Trillian42 - he met us at the yarn shop and boy, is he ever good at supporting his wife's yarn addiction. He actually got on his PDA and tried looking up the yarn requirements for a pattern Trillian had seen recently for a yarn she couldn't stop wandering back to. Trillian42 & Hubby I need to see if he has a single brother living in the Charlotte region. Or at least willing to move. I'm worth it. Trust me. Heh. There was so much pretty yarn there. Opportunities for stash enhancement abounded. And I didn't turn them down. Trust me. I was worried for a bit that I was going to be the only one to buy anything. But, being the enabler I am, that was not the case. Trillian42 Scores! Bryghtrose give a stainless steel pose Pam got an armload of the yarn she was spying (Artful Yarns Olympic in "Tokyo") and Bryghtrose bought some Stainless Steel Yarn. (That's her "stainless steel yarn woman" look) Yeah, I said "Stainless Steel Yarn". It's from Habu. Amazing stuff. I picture a batwing style lace shawl. Stainless Steel Yarn I can't wait to see what she does with it. I really wanted to be able to hang out with them some more, but I really had to get on the road for the long drive back to Charlotte. Made longer by the fact that I got on 495 North instead of South and spent an extra hour going ALL THE WAY AROUND THE CITY to get back to 95 South. Idiot that I am. Gah. But I had a great time and can't wait to kidnap Stephy and drive up there with her for a real visit. Maybe come Labor Day. We'll see. Trillian, better stock up on some homemade tequila!

Hee - great pics!

And sadly, Kris is an only child. So, no brothers available, or I'd be all about fixing you up. =)

And I'll start searching out the tequila...

I'm SO jealous! I was supposed to go meet Cpurl this weekend but now I have to wait until August!

Oh, that particular way of serving tequila is popular at clubs in Tijuana. Only in TJ there's a guy with a bottle and a whistle, if he blows the whistle then he's about to get ya. They pull your head back and dump tequila in your mouth until you can't drink anymore (usually not much, that stuff is nasty!) then they throw you over their shoulder and spin you around. Did I mention I don't go to clubs in TJ anymore?

it looks like you had a great time. It sounds dangerous to drink and shop, especially when it's yarn shopping. Looks like purchases were plentiful.

It was great to meet you and Trillian :) Thanks for taking the photos & being trip-ographer. I'm slowly recovering from my vacation, and getting my pictures downloaded.

Hmmmm . . .I've never gone on an alcohol-fueled yarn shopping trip (record shopping yes, yarn shopping no). I'm now trying to figure out which LYSs have bars in their vicinity, and many of them do. That's got to be some sort of conspiracy!!

(My word verification is upasbt, but I first read it as "pabst", which means I am now thinking about drinking. And yes, I do drink PBR.)
