Add one more to the tally...

I started AND finished the scarf for my sister's fiance last night. Ok, so it was made with the WoolEase Thick n Quick on size US 50 needles, but hey, it counts. Don't look at me like that. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us I also finally took a pic of the keyhole scarf I made for my mom (notice the little helper in the bottom left.) Image Hosted by ImageShack.us The HP scarf is coming along nicely now that I've got the pattern worked out. 48 rows in the MC 4 rows CC, 8 rows MC, 4 rows CC and repeat. I'm now just over 9% done. Got through the first trapped bar repeat and halfway through the next section of MC. Only got a bit done of the Irish Hiking Scarf, but Harry Potter was posing a more intimidating challenge.

First, let me paste in the text from an email I sent you. Not sure if you got it, but I think it may be pertinent.

"Yes, I did count four rounds of CC! My husband thought I was insane for looking for that kind of detail, but there was one scene where it was obvious. However, I also noticed that the scarves in the movie seem to be a finer gauge yarn. I’m thinking maybe fingering? I know the Atypically pattern mentions that they should be finer, but that would take longer to knit. I used a DK weight on size 5 needles, and three rounds of CC looks nearly perfect to me. There were also more rounds of MC in between the CC, but again, I think that was because the rows were smaller."

So I did use 27 rounds of MC, then 3, 5, 3 for the trapped bar design. I'm not very tall, so a scarf any longer would be goofy looking. Of course, there are those who argue that it already is. *grin*

Comment back or email me if you want to discuss this more. :)

And my verification word today sounds like a spell. :) "nucgvatl"
