Ass and the Many Different Ways You Can Feel Like It.

#1. 1 Kind of Ass. Defined as mild head and chest congestion, the sniffles, mild aches and pains. 0701180004May include some or all of the above. #2. 2 Kinds of Ass. Defined as mild to moderate head and chest congestion, itchy, watery eyes, persistent cough, mild to moderate aches and pains (including headache) leaky or clogged nose - either way requiring multiple boxes of kleenex. Medicine is introduced to the picture. Typically in pill form. #3. 3 Kinds of Ass. 2 kinds of ass, plus the inability to sit upright with eyes open. Requires hours of rest and relaxation, inability to knit. Medicines are upgraded to the gross, liquid "cherry" flavor kind. #4. 4 Kinds of Ass. 3 kinds of ass, plus nausea. If feeling persists for an entire day, the doctor may be visited. #5. Ass Battalion aka. Near Death. Calvin HidingI got to number 4 by late Friday night. Fortunately I was able to downgrade back to 2 Saturday morning, and work at the shop all day. Sunday and today, I'm holding strong at 2, though I'm wavering back to 3 at the moment. I hate being sick. Calvin and Ripple, as you see above, have declared a truce and begun a lifelong friendship. Calvin is a handful. Hoo boy. Troublemaker actually likes to chew on all the plants that Morris and Ripple had always ignored! Gah! I've pulled out the big guns, my AKH2O. When I'm around to see it, the method is rather successful. Alas, this morning, after having spent the night with neither cat on the bed, I found Calvin laying in one of my potted plants. Sheesh. Once I started feeling better, I was able to finish up my sock swap socks for Karen. Embossed Leaves Socks Pattern: Embossed Leaves from Winter 2005 Interweave Knits Yarn: Cherry Tree Hill in "Emerald City" Started 1/13 finished 1/21 Modifications, left off the last 8 row repeat on the foot and used the reverse shaping for the star toe as suggested on Mona's blog. I cannot say how much I enjoy knitting this pattern. I am entranced by it! It's so easy to memorize, it just flies off my needles! I'll be making many more of these in the future. This is pair #2.

Oh, poor Turtle… if I thought I could get there and back before you recovered (and could do it without dragging a 3-yo behind me) I'd bring you some soup, non-yucky medication, and a cabana boy to massage your temples and place cool cloths on your fevered brow.

Realistically, I can say "get better soon."

So sorry you feel like ass. I hope you're back to feeling like... uh... tits? again real soon.

;)

Ah, the mutual grooming stage. So precious!

To make you laugh, but not cough. My brother's girlfriend got the water gun to make the cat stay off the bed. The cat quicky learned that she could get the whole household in an uproar if she hid behind my brother at just the right moment. After waking to a wet face about the third time another approach was suggested.

I believe the snoring lump on the couch near me hit the "3 Kinds" level sometime last night. *sigh*

Hee! Kittyface! And kitty buddies! They are so cute!

And stop bragging about your dang socks. I'm just barely past the toes (obviously, working toe-up). Of course, I'm also doing them both at once. >:)

Love the pic of Calvin peeking out. Sounds like he is keeping you on your toes. Might be okay if you weren't sick. I hope you can kick the ass soon.

Very pretty socks! Those are on my to do list, too.

Holy crap for being at various stages of ass the past week you sure did whip out those socks quick! Holy cow! They look great. If we move to NY I'll have to pet them in person. Hm. Yeah that's bizzare.

Hee hee! It sounds like Calvin is initiating you to the ways of a feisty cat with wiley plant eating and nesting ways. I have a stray cat that nests on my oregano outside. I've named him Mr. Pizza Butt. I can't win for losing.

Sounds like you need some sleep, orange juice, and Emergen-C!! See, you went to work and now you're still sick. I hope you feel better soon. At least the ass battalion didn't visit you. Those socks look great!!

Glad to see you're feeling better! Love the color of those socks!

I snorted at the idea of Calvin lying in a plant. All I can picture is a yellow kitty passed out after an all night plant-chewing bender.

I love the kitty grooming pictures.

So you finished socks, matched up over 90 SP's and got better all in one weekend?

Cute Calvin there saying...who me..nah!!

Glad you are much better!! :)

That has to be the funniest post I've read. If I weren't in a pissy mood I would actually laugh out loud, but I am so I won't (nothing against your amusing post, I showed up here in this mood, lol). At any rate, I'm glad the kitties decided to love on each other. And I just found my copy of IK that has that sock pattern in it and I'm pondering actually making it :) Back to me being moody...

Sorry you're feeling poorly. Great socks though! I've got a skein of CTH for my sock swap partner too, and still struggling to decide on a pattern. I love to see what other patterns look great with that yarn.

Those socks are so darn gorgeous! I'm sorry you were sick. Sometimes I think winter is just one long viral romp. We are partial to Puffs with Lotion here.

My young cat has made it impossible to keep potted plants or cut flowers in the house. Drat him.

I love those socks--can't wait to try that pattern some day.

The Kitties are sooo sweet. For the plants and other items that they like to chew (like ipod earbud cords) I recommend a spray called Bitter Apple. It can be found in the dog section of the pet store.

I'm glad you didn't make it to the fifth level of the asspocolypse. Hopefully you'll continue downgrading!

I bow down to your greatness for being able to memorize that pattern!

Awww you actually DEFINED the kinds of Ass. I love you, Cristi!!!

I hope you're back in the saddle quick!! The socks look great!! WEEEEEEEEEE It takes a special person to knit socks for another. :)

Oh it sucks to be sick. i hop eyou feel better soon! At my house I had to put little knick-knacks around the potted plants. Kitty wouldn't jump up on the shelf with the plants if there didn't appear to be a landing point. Also, I have found a can of compressed air (the kind you clean dust out of your computer with) works as well, if not better than the h2o.

Kitties! Socks! Kitties!

The socks are beautiful. Your kitties are snuggly. And I'm glad the feeling like ass status has been downgraded to less worrying levels.
